Welcome to Drift Inn and Kiss nightclub.Situated conveniently across the road from Paignton train station, Drift Inn has been open since the end of July under the family run guidance of Wendy and Danny Philpott. The pub’s motto which hangs on the wall reads, ‘drift in as a stranger, sail away as friends’ and it’s fair to say that the ambience and laid back, chilled-out nature of the place
does their motto justice.
The pub is open from 11.00am every morning serving breakfast and keeps serving food right up until 9.00pm every night. The bar is licensed from 11.00am until 11.00pm everyday except Fridays and Saturdays when it’s open until 4.00am and doubles up as Kiss the nightclub’s chill-out room. Basically come up the stairs and turn right at the top and you’re in Drift Inn pub and restaurant.
Come up the stairs and turn left and you’re in Kiss the nightclub on a Friday and Saturday night from 10.00pm-4.00am (it’s FREE entry and the bar prices are the same as the pub).
The food is typically British pub grub cooked to a higher standard than normal. The menu is compact and features steaks and burgers, paninis and kids meals with a daily selection of specials on offer. Drift Inn has a full Sky Sports package which means there’s no excuse to miss your favourite football, rugby or cricket team play and as they open up the nightclub for big games it means you can fit up to 450 of your mates in as well! Keep your eyes peeled for special deals and offers when live Sky Sports games are on so keep checking back for details.
Danny, Wendy & Dave can put on functions for up to 100 people for your special occasion be it a wedding anniversary, christening or special birthday surprise. The whole place really does bring something new and fresh to Paignton whether it’s the pub and restaurant or the nightclub experience so be sure to pop in soon and check them out.

Paignton and Torbay’s premier sports bar offering more meals, deals, specials and happy hours than you can shake a stick at.
Open (and licensed, if in need of a livener) from 8:00am for breakfasts, coffees and drinks right through the day until midnight. Food is served until late in the evening unless the football’s on and that rule applies every day. This is primarily a sports bar so if there’s a big game on don’t expect to be eating during it! However, the other 14 hours the bar is open for is just fine.
There’s all sort of grills, steaks, combos, jackets, burgers and baguettes on offer as well as a very tempting 2 meals for £11 offer on meals like cod and chips, rumps, gammons, sausage and mash and lots more. There is also a daily roast with a selection of meats
available. every Friday is steak night where you can have 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for less than £20. Slightly less, it’s £19.95 – good value. Check out the menus below.
Thursday nights are curry nights where you can have a selection of curries with all the trimmings and a pint for just £6.95. Check out the blackboard for the daily specials as well as all the 2 meals for a tenner options. Monday-Thursday from 4:00pm-6:00pm is steak and a pint for £8. That gets you an 8oz rump with chips, mushrooms and a grilled tomato plus drink.
Happy hours for drinks is 4:00-7:30pm Monday-Friday where premium beers are on offer at £3 a pint and Carlsberg, Thatchers Gold and Tetley are £2.50. No happy hour on a Saturday but Sunday is from 6:00pm-11:00p. Bank holidays are excluded. Cash and all major cards are accepted.

The Clocktower Bar and Pub is Torquay’s foremost sporting venue. This is Torquay’s premier sports bar showing football, rubgy, racing, Gaelic football and just about any other sport you can think of to ask them for.
Let’s get the food out of the way. It’s made up of typical and traditional British pub grub. The kitchen opens at noon every day and serves lunch up until 6:00pm when dinner takes over and is served til around 9:30pm. There’s daily specials on offer on the board inside with room for 30 diners inside with another 52 outside.
Parking is either on street or in the local car park across the road. DON’T get caught out by the taxi rank outside like I did, which looks like it’s pay parking all day til 6:00pm then free like everywhere else. It is pay parking, then it becomes a taxi rank from 6-8:00pm and if you park there for longer than a couple of seconds you will get a ticket.
There we go, that’s that sorted, now for the sport and the drinking. The pub serves from 11:00am until 1:00am pretty much 7 days a week except Sunday. The bitters change regularly and you can pay by cash or card.
This is a pub that welcomes rugby teams, stag parties and the like. Make sure you give the manager a ring first and he’ll lay something on for you FREE of charge whether it’s a finger buffet or sandwiches or just a little something to soak up the booze and help you have a good night and not feel too rough the next day. So if you’re playing locally or coming down for the weekend on a club jolly, get in touch and let the team at The Clocktower look after you from start to finish. There aren’t many places that actively encourage rugby teams and stag patries in the Bay so take advantage while you can.
Joss White and Kayleigh Walsh are the new owners of Driftwood Café in St Marychurch and have tried to make the café unique in the precinct for its emphasis on quality, presentation and the difference in its menu. The café is light and airy and features a typical front of house layout with a lovely relaxing chill-out room to the rear where you can lounge away a couple of hours munching on homemade cakes, drinking a selection of teas and coffees or sampling a range of organic wines. As Joss has been the chef for the last couple of years and Kayleigh has been working out in the front of the café, it’s all change but no change here.
A daily special of a cake and a cuppa (tea or coffee) for £3.50 is available and on Saturdays why not treat yourself to 2 courses and a glass of wine or a beer for just £10. Everything is cooked freshly and prepared on the premises using locally sourced produce where possible. All dietary requirements are catered for, the cakes are all gluten-free and there are plenty of vegetarian options on the menu. Wifi is available for free so you can pick up your emails or surf the net and the cafe can be hired at any time for special occasions and events. Opening hours are Monday – Saturday 9:00am – 5:00pm.
Keep your eyes peeled for their monthly one evening special dinners which have proved to be hugely popular and require booking and registration on their email list here email@example.com
